Launch Recap for March 5, 2016

Major launch day!

Excellent conditions with beautiful temps, open skies and plenty of visibility, minor to calm winds, and lots of participation.

Welcome to all who joined us for the first time.  We really enjoyed working with you, growing in skill, and having a blast(literally) with you!

With such favorable conditions, the count of participants was one of the highest in our recent history.  That said, might I once again thank Brian C. as LCO for another really full and fun day?   The launch count surprised even me, particularly given the number of launches in the C through G range.  Today’s total: 130 launches.  A new record!

Thanks to everyone with their helpfulness, patience in getting onto the pads, and help setting up and tearing down.  One of the most unusual successes of the day was 3 successful launches and recoveries of an Estes Mosquito on an A10-3T.  Finding that tiny bird in the field anytime is nearly miraculous, but 3 times is nearly unheard of.

Thanks also to Little Big Econ State Forest for mowing the field, and allowing us to serve the community, lots of learning and safe rocket launching.

See you in April, conditions permitting!
