Saturday was a questionable day from the start for launching. Though cooler temps preceded the launch day, the temperature definitely went up with the sun, We expected rain, had lots of low clouds and then a little later in the morning a partly cloudy sky. Flying was still good, though the upper atmosphere winds sent several parachute models into the next county The field was mowed and dry, so we were able to recover anything that didn't land in a tree.

Thanks to all who came early and helped us set up and tear down. Our apologies for the lack of "battery power" that caused some frustration with ignition errors. Yes, some igniters were shorted, but others just did not have the heat to ignite the motors. Thank you, Roger for the battery pack. That made all the difference. Speaking of help, Roger already mentioned our chagrin to need to end early because of other commitments. We would LOVE to engage you in learning the setup and tear down, so that we don't have to repeat the early closure.

I was glad that most seemed to get their rockets off, and most of the "just gotta fly one more rocket" energy. We were really glad to serve the Cub Scout pack that came as well as the ARC team. May you fly many more rockets!

We had several rockets go into the clouds and then the eastern woods. After adjusting the rods, only one more landed out of reach in a tree. Maybe the wind will blow it down. I hope so.

Welcome to the many new fliers! I With the new to flying came lots of learning and opportunity to interact. You all did so well and so many your rockets flew well too. Thanks for coming out to join us and enjoy the time learning together.

We currently are "Go for Launch" for January 3. Keep an eye on our Facebook page or our website for launch status. Now is a great time to build your rockets! Hope to see you in October! Have a great month! See you next year! Happy New Year!
