Thanks to a generous offer from the Sanford Aero Modelers, ROCK will be hosting a club rocket launch on Saturday, April 3, at the Aero Modelers’ site in Geneva. The site is about 15 minutes away from our regular site.

On launch days, the first Saturday of each month, we will begin setting up around 8:30 in the morning and start flying around 9:00 am. We can use assistance setting up.

We will prep our rockets while the R/C modelers are flying their airplanes then launch during their breaks. Dues and launch fees will be waived at these launches.

Due to the size of the field and the presence of other people, please limit the altitude that your rockets will fly to about 400 feet. Also, wearing of masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced.

The Sanford Aero Modelers’ site is located at

ROCK (“Rocketry of Orlando’s Community Kids”) is an Orlando-based model rocket club which encourages children and adults to embrace the exciting, fun, safe, and educational hobby of sport rocketry. The “Kids” in our name refers to “children of all ages” (kids and adults) who enjoy building and flying model rockets.

Whether you are new to the hobby or have been flying rockets for years, we invite you to join us on the first Saturday of each month when we launch rockets at the Barr Street entrance to the Little Econ State Forest in Oviedo, Florida.

Our next launch is scheduled for May 1st. The current launch status is Go for Launch..

Our club provides launch pads and controllers. Bring your own rockets, motors, and other launch supplies as well as a folding chair, water to drink, and snacks.

ROCK also helps youth groups such as Scouts with rocketry activities and students participating in the National Association of Rocketry’s Team America Rocketry Challenge. For more information on how ROCK can help you with your group rocketry activities, please Contact Us.

ROCK’s annual dues are $15 per family (or $10 per family if at least one family member is a NAR member with ROCK listed as their “home” section). We don’t require membership to launch, but highly recommend it because of cost savings. To join our section, come to a monthly ROCK launch and check in with one of our club representatives.
