ROCK (“Rocketry of Orlando’s Community Kids”) is an Orlando-based model rocket club which encourages children and adults to embrace the exciting, fun, safe, and educational hobby of sport rocketry. The “Kids” in our name refers to “children of all ages” (kids and adults) who enjoy building and flying model rockets.
Whether you are new to the hobby or have been flying rockets for years, we invite you to join us on the first Saturday of each month when we launch rockets at the Barr Street entrance to the Little Econ State Forest in Oviedo, Florida. Our club provides launch pads and controllers. Our next launch is scheduled for April 7th. The current launch status is Go for Launch. Bring your own rockets, motors, and other launch supplies as well as a folding chair, water to drink, and snacks.
ROCK also helps youth groups such as Scouts with rocketry activities and students participating in the National Association of Rocketry’s Team America Rocketry Challenge. For more information on how ROCK can help you with your group rocketry activities, please Contact Us.
ROCK’s annual dues are $15 per family (or $10 per family if at least one family member is a NAR member with ROCK listed as their “home” section). We don’t require membership to launch, but highly recommend it because of cost savings. To join our section, come to a monthly ROCK launch and check in with one of our club representatives.
